Simple harmonic motion consists of an oscillating sytem which staisfies the following properties:
Motion is periodic or repeating
Motion is about an equilibrium position at which point no net force acts on the sytem
The restoring force is proportional to and oppossitely directed to the displacement, according to Hooke's Law
F = kx = kr
